The third and final volume of the classic novel Täällä Pohjantähden alla, Under the North Star, by Väinö Linna (published between 1959 and 1962, WSOY), has been published by Aspasia Books of Beaverton, Canada. The translator is Richard Impola (who was awarded the First Class insignia of the Order of the Lion of Finland last May in recognition of his work as a translator).
     Aspasia Books has also published an exploration of Sámi mythology, Fragmenter i Lappska Mythologien, by the 19th-century Lutheran pastor and revivalist preacher Lars Levi Laestadius (1800–1861), edited by Juha Pentikäinen. The title is Fragments of Lappish Mythology and the translator is Börje Vähämäki.

Estonian
A novel by Eero Tarasti, Professori Amfortasin salaisuus ('Professor Amfortas's secret', Yliopistopaino) has been published by Tartu Ülikooli Kirjastus of Tartu and translated by Aivo Lõhmus. The title is Professor Amfortase saladus.

Hebrew
A novel by Eeva Tikka, Lohikäärmekylpy ('The dragon bath', Gummerus), has been translated by Rami Saari and published by Carmel Publishing House of Jerusalem.

French
A collection of poems by Bo Carpelan, I mörka rummen, i de ljusa ('In dark rooms, and in light', Schildts) has been translated by Pierre Grouix. The publisher is Atelier La Feugraie of Paris; the title is Dans les Pièces obscures, dans les claires.

German
The novel Jalat edellä ('Feet first', Otava) by Reidar Palmgren has been published under the title Mit den Füssen zuerst by Verlag Stegemann of Dülmen. The translator is Bernd Lüecke.

Hungarian
The novel Ei minulta mitään puutu ('I lack for nothing', WSOY) by Hannu Raittila has been translated by Lajos Nagy Szopori. The title is Semmiben meg nem fogyatkozom, the publisher is Polar Könyvek of Budapest.

Russian
The famous 1940s novel by Mika Waltari, Sinuhe egyptiläinen (The Egyptian, WSOY), has been translated by Vladimir Bogacev, Laura Virolainen and Elena Kamenskaja. The title is Sinuhe egiptjanin; the publisher is Ruslania Books of Helsinki.

Slovenian
Jelka Ovaska Novak has translated a novel by Arto Paasilinna, Ulvova mylläri ('The howling miller', WSOY). The title is Tuleci mlinar and the publisher is Mladinska knjiga Zalozba of Ljubljana.

Swedish
Yhdeksän unelmaa ('Nine dreams', WSOY) is a book of memoirs by Arto Paasilinna; it has appeared under the title Nio drömmar by Bromberg of Stockholm. The translator is Camilla Frostell.

Ukrainian
A novel by Arto Paasilinna, Jäniksen vuosi (The Year of the Hare, Gummerus), has been translated bu Jurij Zub and published under the title Rík zajca by Kalvaria of Lvov.
